  • “Here’s the bathroom mom. You head in and I’ll wait for you.”

  • ┬áIf it’s bedtime, say: “I’m really tired. You must be, too. Let’s go to bed now.”

  • “Why don’t we dim the lights, turn down the TV and read a bit before bedtime.”

  • “We did a lot of work in the garden today and need to get rest.”

  • “We’re going out tomorrow to have coffee with your best friend so we need to get to bed now.”

  • “Why don’t I rub this nice, warm lotion onto your hands, Dad. Then let’s say a prayer.”
