It is very hard to change past patterns. Provide your family member with some education and gentle suggestions, but don’t be too critical. Model good behavior. When she sees you going with the flow and not arguing, it may help. Your family member will notice the cooperation and smiles you get from your Alzheimer’s loved one, not combativeness.
