  • Keep trash cans covered and out of sight.

  • Remind yourself and others that your loved one is not a thief.

  • Avoid showing your frustration or irritation when things go missing.

  • Commit to ignoring some actions.

  • If hiding things becomes a problem, consider installing a surveillance camera in the home.

  • Help your loved one maintain a regular routine.
