Symptoms of Depression with Alzheimer's Disease

Identifying depression in someone with Alzheimer's can be difficult, since dementia can cause some of the same symptoms. Examples of symptoms common to both depression and dementia include:
  • Apathy.
  • Loss of interest in activities and hobbies.
  • Social withdrawal.
  • Isolation.
  • Trouble concentrating.
  • Impaired thinking.
