  • “Dad, can I join you on that walk?” “Where are you headed?”

  • “Dad, I notice that you keep pacing between your bedroom and the coat closet. It’s OK. I’ll remind you when it’s time to meet your friends and go with you.

  • “Mom, I see you’re on the neighbor’s porch swing. Aren’t her flowers beautiful? Come back over to your house and I will get us some lemonade.”

  • “I’m sorry we didn’t get out for our walk today since it was raining. I waited too long. Why don’t we go for a car ride instead?”

  • “Mom, I know you’re anxious to get to the store. Let’s sit down and make a list first.”

  • Mom, I notice that you keeping walking to the window and looking out at the garden. Let’s go buy a few pansies, your favorite flower, and you can help me plant them.
