Always Saying "No"

Alzheimer's disease and other dementias impact the ability to reason, making questions and tasks difficult to understand. Just like most people, when asked to do something he/she doesn't understand or feel comfortable with, a person with dementia will often respond, "No!" Instead of asking, lead the conversation; for example, stating "I'm thirsty" may cause them to agree and want water too.
