• It is very common for people with Alzheimer’s Disease to ask the same question over and over and to get “stuck” on a certain topic. One thing you can do is gently redirect them into an activity or into a different conversation.

  • You can answer the question first, and then say, “Dad, would you like to come into the kitchen and help me make a snack?” or “Mom, how about if we go for a walk around the block together?”

  • Remember, the person with dementia isn’t intentionally being difficult—their brain has just changed, and they can no longer process information the same way.
